Albrieux Africa’s Sustainability Mission

Albrieux Africa mission is to support a sustainable society and sustainable trade by guiding all stakeholders towards greater sustainability awareness. We aim to achieve this by minimizing and mitigating negative impacts on the natural environment while actively contributing to our local community and society at largedevelops each of its services and products in harmony with nature.

This means that in every business process, concrete actions aimed at contributing to the preservation of biodiversity through habitat improvement, environmental education and research will be crucial.

Albrieux Africa believes in a way of travelling that is authentic and respectful of the country that welcomes its travellers, and provides guidance on how to behave and best practice.

It is Albrieux Africa ‘s firm intention to enhance environmental resources, i.e. to continually improve the conservation of the natural heritage through operational improvements and product design.

Sustainability policy

Albrieux Africa tours is committed to growing his business in a sustainable manner. We recognize that the environment, communities and cultures within which we operate are vital to the success of our business.

Responsible and Sustainable travel is one of our company’s core values, we aim to maximize the positive effects that tourism can have on individuals and local communities, while minimizing the negative social, environmental and economic impacts.

This policy outlines what we have already managed, what we are currently doing, and what we hope to achieve in the future. It defines practices at the core of our product development, operations, and external partner relationships. It is a work in progress for everyone in our company. We therefore commit to the following objectives:

• Comply with all relevant legislation and embed sustainable development principles into core business practices
• Use our position to drive sustainability within our destination
• Preserve our environment and continually improve our environmental performance
• Optimize our social impact to enhance local livelihoods and prevent tourism leakages
• Provide information, training and support to colleagues and external partners, to engage them towards sustainability
• Provide sustainable information about our products to encourage our clients to opt for sustainable travel options

Albrieux Africa tours strongly believes that the practice of responsible and sustainable tourism cannot be separated from the necessary precondition of assuring the tourist-traveller the same dose of respect, responsibility and attention that the organiser must reserve, by definition, for the local host community.

This is why we work to ensure that the travel experience is the result of an action that begins not from the moment the traveller begin the travel, but before, that is, when he matures his own idea of travel and desire for discovery.

This is why before departure, during the journey and after return, Albrieux Africa Tours works with extreme care, not only in favour of the host community and the environment, but also and above all to foster the emergence, in the traveller, of a conscious experience that enriches him culturally and humanly.

We believe that tourism is a powerful source of human and economic development that, if well managed, can trigger beneficial mechanisms both for travellers and for the very different realities that make up the host country.

Therefore, when planning our itineraries, we strive to realise trips that are always able to translate into opportunities for mutual exchange and improvement between guests and hosts. To this end, we actively collaborate with local partners and local businesses in our activities at all levels.

On the ground

• We prefer to work with locally owned businesses reflecting local cultures (hotels, lodges, restaurants, handicraft outlets, arts and culture centers)
• We drive positive change within our supply chain, monitor their sustainable practices, share best practices and organize training
• We ensure that travels we organize do not have adverse effects on the environment or society, especially sensitive activities that may bring travellers into contact with animals, children or remote communities.
• We give back to neighboring communities by supporting projects addressing local development challenge, encouraging fair employment opportunities and wellbeing advancement.
• We promote Responsible Tourism in our industry and to stakeholders we engage with in our destination(s).
• We put our clients and guests at the forefront of our business and help them to make informed decisions when travelling.

Excursion Policy

• We prioritize excursions that respect local communities, traditions, and ecosystems, avoiding any activities that exploit people, wildlife, or cultural heritage.
• We collaborate with certified and responsible local guides who ensure authentic, educational, and safe experiences.
• We promote low-impact excursions such as walking tours, cultural exchanges, and nature-based activities that foster appreciation and conservation.
• Albrieux Africa Tour organizes excursions based on UWA (Uganda Wildlife Authority) guidelines. Uganda Wildlife Authority, (UWA) is Uganda’s Government agency responsible for the management and protection of Wildlife in and outside protected areas. The agency is supervised by the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities (https://ugandawildlife.org/about-uwa/). The updated list of high-sensitivity excursions is always provided by UWA, together with the guidelines for respecting the environment, biodiversity, and community. Albrieux Africa follows this list of excursions and the guidelines of Uwa in order to respect and improve the sustainability of the areas where organizes the tours. For Albrieux Africa Tours is very important to follow these guidelines to reduce the impact of tourism, respect biodiversity and respect the animals we see during the travel and don’t disturb them.
• Where available, preference is given to activities and excursions which operate on the basis of acknowledged and controlled sustainability standards.
• The company offers no activities that harm humans, animals, plants, natural resources (e.g. water/energy), or which are socially/culturally unacceptable.

Accommodation Policy

• We work primarily with locally owned and sustainably managed accommodations that reflect Uganda’s culture and hospitality.
• We prioritize hotels, lodges, and camps that adopt eco-friendly practices
• We encourage accommodations that provide fair employment opportunities, gender equality, and capacity building for local staff.
• We prefers hotels and restaurants that don’t damage the environment and don’t violates the property rights of local communities.
• We support accommodations that integrate community involvement, sourcing local products and offering guests meaningful cultural interactions.

Purchasing Policy

• We give preference to local suppliers and artisans to strengthen community economies and reduce tourism leakages.
• We avoid products derived from endangered species, unsustainable sources, or items that promote cultural exploitation.
• We seek suppliers who demonstrate environmentally responsible practices, such as minimal packaging, recyclable materials, and ethical production.
• We actively encourage our partners and clients to purchase locally made crafts and goods that directly benefit communities.

Energy and office Policy

Rules for saving energy with lighting:

• Use of daylight is maximized
• The light bulbs we use are Philips Led
• The lights are all switched off at the end of working hours.

Rules for saving energy with technical equipment:

• Screens are set to automatically go on stand-by after not being used for approx. 10 minutes;
• Printers and laptops are switched off at night and outside office hours
• The company has no air conditioned and no heating.

Paper:

• We strive to reduce paper usage by promoting digital communication, double-sided printing, and responsible resource management.

Waste reduction:

• The following was done with regard to waste reduction policy
• Drinking water is supplied in gallons to avoid or reduce the purchase of plastic bottles
• If it is necessary to print, the duplex mode is used
• Papers that can no longer be printed are used for note-taking
• Drinks in paper cups, bottles, and cans were strongly discouraged whenever possible
• Old equipment once broken is taken to a licensed waste disposal centre;
